I began my golfing journey in the early 90's by cutting my teeth playing junior golf at the Warwick Golf Club.  It’s here the passion for golf was to begin.  I played golf all through high school and a number of Greg Norman Junior Golf events across the Darling Downs during that period.

 

After university I was a member of the Townsville Golf Club for a number of years.  I met PGA Member Terry Price and began reconstructing my golf swing.  After hitting it all over the place with more than a few shanks, over a period of 18 months I changed my swing completely.

 

I moved to Melbourne and was under the watchful eye of David Leadbetter Academy Coach, Philip Wright, who caddied for Ian Baker-Finch during the 1980’s and notably went to The 1985 Masters Tournament at Augusta on IBF’s bag.

 

Moving back to Brisbane I sought out a suitable coach and met with Chris Gibson.  Chris has enhanced my solid swing base to produce a number of career best low rounds.  Recently, I have had the pleasure of learning from Jacob Boyce, Asian Tour Player, on the Sunshine Coast.

I have gained a number of Trackman qualifications in recent times.  I practice and coach on Trackman Simulators.  I find the data produced accelerates the learning of your golf swing that raking one ball after another over to hit it on the range just cannot compare with.

In 2015, I travelled to St Andrews for the 144th Open Championship. I would highly recommended this trip to any golfer. Playing a bump-and-run 6 iron through the 'Valley of Sin' in front of the 18th green was possibly the most fun I've had playing golf.
